The Valley Hospital has achieved the Healthgrades 2017 Patient Safety Excellence Award™. This designation places Valley among Healthgrades top 5 percent of hospitals in the nation for excellent performance. Valley is the only hospital in Bergen County to receive this designation.
For the tenth time, The Valley Hospital has been honored with an “A” in the Spring 2017 Hospital Safety Score report, released by The Leapfrog Group, an independent, national not-for-profit organization of employer purchasers of health care. Valley was one of 823 hospitals to receive an A, ranking among the safest hospitals in the United States.
Number 1 The Valley Hospital is proud to announce that for the third consecutive year it has earned the 2016 Women’s Choice Award as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Heart Care. This hospital is one of only 353 hospitals in the United States to qualify for this evidence-based designation, signifying this hospital’s commitment to meeting the highest standards in heart care.
Number 1 Valley has earned an impressive 14 Disease-Specific Certifications from The Joint Commission. Valley holds these distinctions, also known as Gold Seals of Approval, in the following clinical areas: perinatal care, acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, total hip replacement, total knee replacement, stroke, breast cancer, lung cancer, colorectal cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, and uterine-ovarian cancer, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. No hospital in the nation has more Gold Seals of Approval in cancer care than Valley.
Number 1 The Valley Hospital has received the Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold-Plus Quality Achievement Award and Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus recognition from American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.
Number 1 The Valley Hospital has received the Get With The Guidelines®–Resuscitation Silver Quality Achievement Award for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer in-hospital cardiac arrests.
Number 1 Valley is a three-time recipient of the prestigious Magnet Designation for Nursing Excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Number 1 Valley's Intensive Care, Intermediate Care, Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care, Coronary Care and Neonatal Intensive Care units each received the Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.

For the second consecutive year, The Valley Hospital has been recognized by Healthgrades as one of America's 50 Best Hospitals for Vascular Surgery. This designation places Valley among Healthgrades top 10 percent in the nation for vascular surgery.
